Buzzing Nigerian singer and songwriter, Daniel Benson, better known by his stage name, BNXN has disclosed the real owner of his recent song, ‘Kenkele‘.
According to the Afrobeat singing sensation, ‘Kenkele’ which happens to be the third track song off his sophomore body of work, “Bad Since 97” was originally written by top Nigerian musician, Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe, professionally called Wande Coal.
BNXN, formerly called Buju disclosed this in a recent interview with Naija FM. The ‘For Days’ hit-maker revealed that, Wande Coal delivered the song to him, even though he was supposed to be the featured artist.
According to BNXN, when he entered the recording studio and heard Kenkele’s hook, he was entranced and could not contain his excitement. Wande Coal then asked him to contribute to the song adding that, he lacked an appropriate melody at the time, hence went home to write one.
“Kenkele” happens to be track 4 off BNXN 7-trakced EP; “Bad Since 97” which was released on Thursday, August 25, 2022 and has been doing impressive numbers on major digital streaming platforms. “Bad Since 97” EP features Olamide, Wizkid, Wande Coal.
