Hailey Baldwin Opened Up About The Details Of Her “Really Scary” Mini-Stroke And Heart Procedure

In a video posted on her YouTube channel, the model who’s married to Justin Bieber detailed the scary ordeal and described the experience as “the scariest moment of my life”.

Last March, Hailey suffered a blood clot in her brain, causing her to have a mini-stroke leaving her unable to speak and her face to droop.

She shared: “What typically happens is the heart will filter the blood clot to the lungs and the lungs will absorb it because they’re so big and they can handle it.

“However, the blood clot escaped through the hole in my heart and travelled to my brain and that is why I suffered a [mini stroke].”

The 25-year old said doctors eventually revealed that the clot was down to a combination of side effects from birth control pills, Covid-19 and a long haul flight.

The supermodel revealed she recently had a patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure procedure performed to mend the hole in her heart.

Hailey reassured fans she would be able to move on with her life now that the ordeal is over.

However, she opened up about the impact it had on her mental health.

She said: “I would get really bad anxiety and my anxiety was making me feel funny. It would make my fingers and hands feel tingly and I just honestly had a really, really hard time.”

At the end of the video, she thanked the doctors who had taken care of her throughout the whole episode and said “I felt like it was important for me to share this.”

She added: “I’m really relieved I will be able to just move on from this really scary situation and live my life.”

Husband Justin previously said: “It’s been scary you know. But I know for a fact that God has her in the palms of his hands and that’s a good thing.”

Hailey is now taking aspirin and blood thinners daily and shared that she is no longer suffering from any related symptoms.
